If you haven’t read the transcript of Press Democrat Staff Columnist Lowell Cohn’s interview with Warriors coach Don Nelson, please go do so now.

Here’s the link: http://blog.pressdemocrat.com/cohn/2009/10/don-nelson-on-why-we-shouldnt-talk-playoffs-why-hes-starting-maggette-over-randolph-why-he-doesnt-be.html

After reading the interview, I think Warriors fans should be concerned about Nelson’s mindset. If he’s bored talking about his team, is he bored coaching the team as well? I think a crucial story line for this season is whether Nelson can bring this team together, help them establish some kind of chemistry, and most importantly, settle on an effective lineup and stick with it. The Warriors have enough talented players that they can contend for a playoff spot in the West. There’s a lot more that goes into it than that, obviously, but the talent is certainly there. Does Nelson care enough to try and make it work this season?

What do you think? Are the Warriors talented enough to make the playoffs? Do you trust Nelson to lead this team this season? Are you concerned at all from what you read in his interview?
