What we’ve learned through three games

Looking ahead to tonight's home game against the Memphis Grizzlies (7:30 p.m., CSN-BA), let's look at what we've learned about this team through the first three games of the season. 1. The Warriors are better than we thought I think this is true. Most people had the Warriors winning 35 games, [...]

Curry won’t travel with team to L.A.

Received this e-mail from the Warriors today: Warriors’ guard Stephen Curry, who suffered a sprained right ankle during the third quarter of last night’s win over the Los Angeles Clippers (3:06 remaining), will not travel to Los Angeles for Sunday’s game against the Lakers.  He is listed as day-to-day.

Mixed emotions about season-opening win

I have mixed emotions about the Warriors' season-opening 132-128 win against the Houston Rockets. Emotion No. 1: Relieved I'm glad the Warriors got a win. The Rockets are a good team, even though they were playing the second night of a back-to-back and without Yao Ming. The Warriors had no excuses [...]

Real basketball is finally here!

First, I apologize for the long delay in posting something new on Warriors Wire. I have been swamped at work with high school sports, the World Series and many other responsibilities. I've had to take a step back from this blog because of other demands on my time. So I [...]

Monta needs to cede leadership of the Warriors to Curry

Before I put out my 2011 expectations for Monta Ellis, I wanted to analyze the latest news about Ellis, a much-talked-about interview he did with AOL Fanhouse's Sam Amick (read the article here) in which he took responsibility for everything that has gone wrong in the past couple seasons between him and the [...]

Warriors get a B for offseason moves

ESPN's Chad Ford graded the offseason moves for all the NBA teams and the Warriors stacked up well in the West. The team ranked fifth among the 15 teams in the West and were awarded a B. It's little surprise that the primary justification for the high grade was the [...]

Curry makes team; Rondo withdraws

Team USA finalized its roster Tuesday and Warriors guard Stephen Curry survived the final cut. He will play for the team in the FIBA men's championship. Team USA's first game is Saturday against Croatia. Celtics guard Rajon Rondo, who didn't play during Sunday's game, has withdrawn from the team, according [...]

Curry may be odd man out for Team USA

I'm not sure how much can be taken from Stephen Curry's performance in Saturday's exhibition against Lithuania. He played well in the time allotted him (2-2 FG, 1-1 3P, 5 points), but the team-low three minutes would indicate that Curry's chances at making the final cut for Team USA aren't good. [...]

Reasons I’m optimistic about the Warriors

This isn't a full-blown season preview; that won't come until much closer to the start of the season. But, I do feel optimistic about the Warriors' odds of improving this season, so I thought I'd share some of the reasoning. Optimistic about improvement doesn't mean I think the Warriors will [...]
