Warriors get a B for offseason moves

ESPN’s Chad Ford graded the offseason moves for all the NBA teams and the Warriors stacked up well in the West. The team ranked fifth among the 15 teams in the West and were awarded a B. It’s little surprise that the primary justification for the high grade was the transition of ownership from Chris Cohan to Joseph Lacob. But, Ford also mentioned some of the Warriors’ young talent in the Warriors’ write-up, which is appreciated. It’s an ESPN Insider… Read More »

ESPN: Warriors 14th in West

ESPN’s Summer Forecast series continued Tuesday with its rankings for Western Conference teams for the 2010-11 season. ESPN’s panel of 93 experts has low expectations for the Warriors, ranking them 14th out of 15 teams, with a projected record of 29 wins, 53 losses. Warriors get bump in ESPN’s future power rankings

ESPN’s future power rankings (it’s an Insider article, but here’s the link just in case) rank how NBA teams will fare in upcoming seasons, decided by a formula made up of the following factors: players on the current roster, quality of ownership and management, the financial philosophy of the team, and future draft picks and draft positioning. Trading Monta Ellis: Part 1

Are the Warriors going to trade Monta Ellis? Nobody really knows for sure. It seems like dealing Ellis and Andris Biedrins and their large contracts may be a priority for the new owners, but there’s no concrete evidence they feel that way. ESPN ran with a reference from Tim Kawakami’s blog and made a big deal that the Warriors might be looking to deal Ellis and Biedrins and fire Don Nelson. I think the Worldwide Leader tried to make a… Read More »

Hollinger: Warriors among offseason’s winners

ESPN’s John Hollinger wrote about the teams he considers winners in this NBA offseason. It’s an Insider article, so you may not be able to access it, but I’ll provide a link to the story just in case. Grouped in with the teams you’d expect to populate such a list (the Heat, the Bulls, etc.) are the Warriors. The team has had a pretty good month, trading for David Lee and locking up a potential starter at small forward (Dorell… Read More »
