Chances running out for Nelson

I know the most die-hard, optimistic Warriors fans will disagree with me, but I think the lackluster performance against a woeful Wizards team in Tuesday's 112-94 loss was a big blow to Don Nelson's chances of moving out of a tie with Lenny Wilkens for the all-time wins record. First [...]

The record today, tank tomorrow?

The Warriors play the Washington Wizards today (4 p.m., CSN Bay Area) with a couple milestones in reach. One milestone is more important, but they are linked; one can't happen without the other. The first is a three-game winning streak for the Warriors -- the first for the team this season. The Warriors [...]

Will Nelson get the record this season?

With 1,330 career wins, Warriors coach Don Nelson is only two wins away from tying the NBA's all-time record for wins and three wins from breaking the record. The current owner of the record, Lenny Wilkens, had a career record of 1,332 wins and 1,155 losses (.536 winning percentage). Nelson's [...]

Should the new owner keep Nelson around?

The wonderful happy news out of Oakland this morning, that Chris Cohan has finally decided to sell the Warriors, has barely had time to settle. When I first received the e-mail, I had to read it twice because I didn't believe it. I had hoped that the rumors of a [...]

ESPN: Ellis, Nelson aren’t going anywhere

ESPN's Marc Stein writes about the Warriors in his Weekend Dime feature on espn.com. Read the full report here. Here's what he wrote about Monta Ellis: After spending some quality time with the Warriors during their swing through Texas this week, I am quite sure they're not shopping guard Monta [...]

No Turiaf, Biedrins on Texas trip

There was some thought last week that if all went well, Andris Biedrins and perhaps Ronny Turiaf could return in time for this week's games, including a tough two-day swing through Texas that begins today against the Dallas Mavericks (10-3) and ends Wednesday with a date in San Antonio against the Spurs [...]

Nelson sick, will miss Texas trip

Got this e-mail from the Warriors: Warriors head coach Don Nelson, who missed yesterday’s and today’s practices due to illness, has been diagnosed with pneumonia and will not accompany the team on its upcoming road trip that includes games at Dallas (Tuesday, November 24) and San Antonio (Wednesday, November 25).

Time for Don Nelson to start Anthony Randolph

The only gripe I have about Friday's uber-impressive win against the Blazers is that Don Nelson continues to start Mikki Moore. To be fair to Nelson, he gave Anthony Randolph a lot of minutes off the bench, but why isn't Randolph part of the starting five? Randolph has earned the right with his play on the [...]

Monta Ellis: Keep or trade?

There has been a lot of talk recently about the future of Monta Ellis with the Warriors organization. The talk started to heat up following the Stephen Jackson trade, especially after the San Jose Mercury News' Tim Kawakami reported that the Warriors had been calling teams and offering star guard [...]
