Stephen Curry played well in a scrimmage with Team USA on Thursday at Radio City Music Hall, scoring 14 points, including four 3-pointers down the stretch.

Jeff Garcia of projectspurs.com has a nice article about Curry. Read it here.

Curry told Garcia that he’s using his time with Team USA to learn by observing and playing with his more experienced teammates:

“I’m a student of the game no matter if I play against the guys, watch them on TV, or just watching film. I always have my eyes open and try to learn something from those talented guys (Derrick Rose, Chauncey Billups, Rajon Rondo). Especially because they play my position. I’m not just going out here blind or going through the motions. I’m definitely trying to pick up some stuff and add to my game. Sometimes my athleticism tries to take over but I see how they see the game and I can definitely learn some things.”

Curry is expected to be one of the final 12 players when the roster is trimmed down from 15 before the start of the FIBA men’s basketball championship. The world championships take place from Aug. 12-Sept. 12 in Istanbul, Turkey, but Team USA has four exhibition games before that.

The first exhibition, against France, is this Sunday at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN2. Here’s a quick glance at the rest of the exhibition schedule:

Saturday, Aug. 21: vs. Lithuania, Noon, ESPN
Sunday, Aug. 22: vs. Spain, Noon, no TV
Wednesday, Aug. 25: vs. Greece, 9 a.m., ESPN2
